1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Freedom Launcher is published by Pragat Inc ("we", "us", "our"), an independent software studio. For the purposes of the GDPR we are the data controller for this app, and under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the data fiduciary.

This policy covers the Freedom Launcher Android application distributed through Google Play under the package identifier inc.pragat.freedomlauncher. It does not cover Google Play itself, or any application you choose to launch from it.

The app is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. By installing and using it you accept this policy. If you do not agree with it, please uninstall the app.

2. Information we collect

We collect nothing. The app does not obtain personal information when you download or use it. Registration is not required, there is no account, and we operate no servers that receive data from the app.

Specifically, we do not collect:

  • your name, email address or any contact details;
  • precise or approximate location information about your device;
  • device or advertising identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports;
  • your contacts, messages, photos or files.

3. How we use information

Because we receive no information, we do not use, profile, analyse, disclose, sell or share any information about you.

The installed-application list and your launcher preferences are read and written by the app on your device, for the sole purpose of presenting your home screen and app drawer as you have configured them.

4. Permissions

Freedom Launcher requests no permissions that grant access to your personal content. It does not request contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS or phone permissions.

To function as a launcher, the app must be able to see which applications are installed so it can list and start them. Android treats this as normal launcher behaviour, and the resulting list is processed on your device only.

5. Third-party services and processors

Freedom Launcher contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, tracking or social SDKs. We engage no processors, because there is no data to process.

Your download and installation of the app is a transaction with Google Play, which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and is outside our control and visibility.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete and no deletion request you need to send us.

Your launcher preferences are held in app-private storage on your device. Uninstalling Freedom Launcher removes them permanently. Uninstalling also stops any collection of information by the app, using the standard uninstall process available on your device or through Google Play.

7. Security

We take the confidentiality of your information seriously. Because the app collects no information and transmits nothing, there is no data held by us that could be exposed in a breach.

Your preferences live in app-private storage that other applications cannot read. No security measure is absolute: a rooted or compromised device, or malware with elevated privileges, can undermine these protections, and we recommend keeping your device's screen lock and system updates enabled.

8. Children's privacy

Freedom Launcher is not directed at children under 13 and is not used to solicit data from or market to children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, we hold no children's data and have nothing to delete.

We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's use of connected devices. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us at the address in section 11 and we will act promptly.

9. Your rights

Privacy laws including the EU and UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data that an organisation holds about you, and to know whether it is sold or shared.

We hold no personal data about you and we do not sell or share personal information, so there is no access request to make and nothing to opt out of. You may still contact us with any question, and you retain the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Any change that would involve collecting or transmitting data would be described here before it takes effect, and the Play Store listing's Data Safety section would be updated accordingly. Please review this page periodically.

Part II

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Freedom Launcher app for mobile devices, created by Pragat Inc and provided as a free service. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms, so please read them before use.

Licence and intellectual property

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. Unauthorised copying or modification of the app or our trademarks is prohibited, as are attempts to extract its source code, translate it into other languages, or create derivative versions. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights and other intellectual property rights relating to the app remain the property of Pragat Inc.

Your device and your data

The app stores and processes your launcher preferences on your own device only. It does not transmit personal data to us, and we do not hold any personal data about you — see section 2 of the privacy policy above.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your access to the app. We strongly advise against jailbreaking or rooting your phone, which removes restrictions imposed by the official operating system. Doing so may expose your device to malware, compromise its security features, and may result in the app not functioning correctly or at all.

Availability and limits of our responsibility

We aim to keep the app useful and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

It is your responsibility to keep your device charged and functional. If your device runs out of battery or fails and you cannot access the app, we are not responsible.

We accept no liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your reliance on the app's functionality. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Note on data charges

Freedom Launcher itself does not require an internet connection to run. If a future version offers an optional connected feature, using it over your mobile network may incur charges from your network provider, including roaming charges outside your home territory. Those charges are your responsibility, and if you are not the bill payer for the device we assume you have the bill payer's permission.

Updates and termination

We may update the app from time to time, and the requirements of the operating systems it supports may change, so you may need to install updates to keep using it. We do not guarantee that we will always update the app or keep it compatible with the particular operating system version installed on your device.

We may also stop providing the app and may terminate its use at any time without notice to you. Unless we tell you otherwise, on termination the rights and licences granted to you under these terms end, and you must stop using the app and delete it from your device.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and conditions periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top applies to both documents. You are advised to review this page regularly.
